Family Violence Intervention Orders (FVIO’s)
Family Violence Intervention Orders (FVIO’s) can affect an individual in ways that an individual may never have contemplated – it is for that reason they need to be dealt with carefully and on the basis of responsible legal advice.
Whatever the circumstances that may have led to an individual being the recipient of a Safety Notice or Family Violence Intervention Order it is essential that the respondent fully understands the role of the Police, Safety Notices and Affected Family Members (AFM’s).
There may be circumstances where the respondent is required to leave the family home along with other restrictions – some of those restrictions may be negotiated with the Police under certain circumstances.
